What's in a name

Ever wonder where the people who name nail polishes get their inspirations from???
I for one am very curious. We all have come across some of these weird names. Some really offbeat like green wich village,20 candles on my cake, belize it or not... are the ones i am refering to. When i googled this search, I came across an excerpt which stated that car colors and nail polish names are taken from the current events and trends. Interesting to know the kind of work/research that goes on to name a color which at times has hardly to do with the colors.
Some colors are inspired with the food color they resemble. Like the choco, coffee, raspberry, cherry etc. Just like we have orange the fruit and orange the color!!!
Anyhow i wonder why, the people do not have a "Rain green". The greenery around is so intoxicating that it should have a term already to itself. Maybe I am misinformed and it actually exists!!
Anyone who has tried a hand on depicting greens/foliage in watercolor can realize how tough it is to really depict it. Of-course I am not mentioning the pro's here.
