This is the first festival of the year.
Back on the west coast of India in it is "The Kite flying day" Actually the "OFFICIAL " kite flying day.
One of the most colorful festivals of the times so to speak .
If given an opportunity it is an experience not to be missed i keep telling.
The enthusiasm is just too infectious.
Ofcourse one of my favouritetest of festivals.
I remember not being able ot fly kites as a kid and having to depend on family to help me fly one or then wiat for the air filled balloons to take the kite up.

Well I know I have been absconding from the blogosphere. What can i say? I am guilty as charged and was just recuperating from 2008. That is all I can say for myself. But I will be back with more stuff int he coming year.
Resolutions: well the one i took has been broken already but it was more art oriented so will see it by the end of the year.

So thats that for now

My kind of humor

>> Thursday, December 4, 2008

just stumbled upon this piece done on coffee and found it really nice and funny.(Not the adjectives the author may like for his semse of humor but for the lack of other words in mind i will call it the same.)
I do not have any strong affiliations (for or against) to coffee (not to blame my upbringing for that because it probably had the right mix since my sister has taken to it like a duck to water).
Anyhow, enjoy the piece from the link at the bottom.
I like the way it has turned out.
My find of the day

I hope it works for all out there. Otherwise do let me know and will do the necessary R&D to get it to y'all

Went to Vaishali

>> Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Well this is a restaurant in Pune that people swear by. Not to take anything awayf romt he old landmark, it is good, but what irks me the most is that any time a normal(not-so-well-connected,knowing-all-the stewards) person goes there he invariably has to wait for ridiculous periods of time.
So once me and one of our common friends waited for 45 mins after which D declared that we have to find a different restaurant to feed ourselves(this after looking at other people feeding on the mouth watering dishes).
So we found another place but a complain remained lodged from my side on having to abandon the dinner there.
On this weekend, Dearest D finally laid down the decree, "We were going to have food at the place even if the wait was two hours" Thankfully we had to wait for only 13 mins(to be exact) and have a table to ourselves.
I have to be honest, The food was good. Also that similar food is also available now near the place I live with no or lesser wait.
So the curiosity has been quelled and proverbial cat has been let out of the bag!!!
I am planning to hit my papers and paints this weekend so more on that later. I know I should be posting my paintings soon on that.

We were rewarded

for waking up early today and taking a walk today morning as we saw a RAINBOW!!!

So that was a great beginning for the day and waiting for the good things to come my way!!!

Usually people are categorized into morning people, not- a morning person, night person ...
But me I used to call myself a morning person but the operative word is used to. Now I am a person who is fully there when awake and a zombie if caught at any other time. What I mean by that is, that till I am gabbing and yakking I am in my element. Being dormant, makes me all sleepy and yawny.
When I was traveling, I was with my nieces and family and not surprisingly, I beat my niece to the bed.
anyhow I need to begin my painting stuff too. Need more force to be able to do that. I am just barely doodling these days!!!

A nice concept

>> Friday, November 28, 2008

On one of my blog reading trysts yesterday, I stumbled upon a nice concept one of the artists(Acuarel http://aquarel.blogspot.com/)followed. You can see it at the above mentioned link.
So back to the concept. He said that he was going to make a metaphorical representation of the most dominant mood for the day. Now to read it , it probably seems mundane, but if you have a look at the illustration that he has made for a particular mood(which I later came to know was-Finding new paths) was just so on the mark that I cannot seem to put it out of my mind.

I think everytime that I am thinking of that phrase this picture will flash thru my mind.

As for the blog I am still working on a landscape size watercolor for the name plate. Wish me luck. It is just that my bulging waist seems to take priority over the other pleasures of life at hectic times in my schedule but I aim to be back soon.

I have been away!!!

>> Monday, November 24, 2008

I know I have not posted on the blog but my butt's been traveling and suffering inthe mean time (since it is at times not parked at aplace for long time and then all of a sudden parked on seats in transportation for really long periods). Well I think I have reached the saturation point of traveling outside the city limits for some time. Ofcourse as a side effects to my social obligations and yapping tooo much my throats decided to go on strike taking my nose along with it in the mutiny(naturally i have cold and a little bit of cough to go along with it)

So I will be back with my paintings and all. Sadly, I have to make the house a little more liveable in order to even actually dig out my brushes and feel like lying painting in stead of putting things back to where they can belong and not be in the view!!!

I actually did some not-so-inspiring pineapples before I left from my travels but i am still trying to get enough courage to post them. Though they have taught me that pineapples have more brown than the yellow and green on their coat (atleast for them to look realistic)!!!
